Julie Matsen Devitt, PhD
Dr. Julie Matsen Devitt is a Licensed Psychologist with a PhD in Counseling Psychology from Ball State University. She completed her internship and postdoctoral training at the Charlie Norwood VAMC and Medical College of Georgia. She has worked in a variety of outpatient and integrated care settings, providing evidence-based treatment to adults (18+) navigating a range of mental health concerns.
As a Licensed Psychologist, Dr. Matsen Devitt works to create a warm, collaborative, and supportive therapeutic space where clients can explore difficult experiences, clarify their values, and build meaningful change in their lives. She specializes in working with trauma and disordered eating, and she also has extensive experience with anxiety, depression, life transitions, and relationship challenges.
Dr. Matsen Devitt draws primarily from cognitive behavioral approaches, including ACT and DBT. She also uses PE and CPT in trauma work. Her work is guided by the belief that therapy should be both practical and deeply personal — grounded in research but always centered around the client’s unique needs and goals.
